Corrections, clarifications and updates
A factual error should be corrected promptly once verified. A clarification may add necessary context without changing the underlying facts. Routine developments may be recorded as updates.
Material and minor corrections
A correction that materially changes the meaning or reliability of a report must carry a clear, visible notice explaining what changed. Silent alteration must not be used to conceal a significant error. Minor spelling, formatting or typographical fixes that do not materially affect meaning do not require a public correction notice.
Timestamps and revision history
Published and updated timestamps should remain distinguishable. The newsroom correction and revision system should retain an internal record of material changes and editorial responsibility.
Requesting review
A dedicated online or email channel is not yet active. No response deadline is promised. Once a verified channel opens, requests should identify the article, disputed statement, supporting evidence and requested correction.
